The Kitchen

Category: TO BE DELETED

The kitchen was almost perfectly clean. The floor was freshly mopped, and all the dishes were stacked to dry. As you looked closer, you noticed the sheen of grease on one of the plates. Also, it appeared all of the cups had already been out away in the cupboard, yet appeared to have been cleaned perfectly.

There was still one trolly with some food on it. Poking around it, you noticed it was a fresh pot of tea, still warm. You opened it and smelled it--nothing seemed off.

Poking in the rubbish bin, you found still-warm food, shards of a broken teacup, and various old bits of food, including a partially rotten banana peel.

Dining Room

The dining room smelled of fresh lemon. As you poked about, you noticed just how clean it was. The only thing that was off was a piece of wax that had fallen onto one of the floral baskets. The room was otherwise spic and span.

Drawing Room

Category: TO BE DELETED

The drawing room had to be the area with the most evidence, being the scene of the murder and all. It took a long while to scour, but in the end, you found a bloodied knife, a blood-soaked glove, a tiny scale next to the phone, and traces of mud just under Mrs Elmsberry's chair.

Foyer

Just for the sake of being thorough, you checked the foyer. You saw a bunch of wet coats, muddy footprints, and mud on the carpet. With all the mud, it was too hard to tell whose was whose. However, one set of footprint did point to the kitchen before they stopped. It was a little curious.

Servants Quarters

Category: TO BE DELETED

With detective gear in paw, you set about surveying the servant's quarters. Most of them proved simple, without much interest.

Darlene's room was quaint, filled with paintings, various sewing projects, and an old leather journal. You skimmed through it but found nothing noteworthy. However, as you dug around her dresser, under a packet of potpourri, you found train tickets for the next day. There was also a letter from Darlene's sister about how she couldn't wait to see her, and the "goods."

Brimsley's room was rather empty, well-organized, and smelled of furniture polish. In his closet were perfectly shined boots, except one pair outside of the closet, which were caked in mud. Stepping inside the closet, you noticed a floral scent, but could not find the source.

Mr Spex's room seemed quite homely, and he appeared to be messy. Several papers were in the trash, most of them detailing schemes on how to make money, large essays about what he'd do if he was rich. You supposed you couldn't blame the fellow.
